After securing their first SEC baseball tournament win since 2011 yesterday, the #3 seed Diamond ‘Dawgs are looking to keep the momentum going this afternoon against Arkansas.
On Wednesday Georgia’s Cam Shepherd broke up what had been a two hit shutout by the Texas A&M staff with a walk off homer that clinched the victory. Now Georgia faces a Razorback squad that was also one of the best in the conference this season, but whom they didn’t face during the regular season. The Razorbacks earned their spot in the winners bracket by downing Ole Miss 5-3.
The Red and Black will start freshman Cole Wilcox (3-1, 4.17 ERA) against the #4 ranked team in the Baseball America rankings. While the double elimination format means that neither of these teams is going home with a loss, the game will go a long way in terms of seeding for the upcoming NCAA tournament. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 pm eastern on the SEC Network. Until then...
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
