If you are looking for a redemption story, a player with something to prove, Terry Godwin is your guy. Now, that story shifts to the Carolina Panthers, who made Godwin a seventh-round selection on the final day of the NFL Draft.
The Terry Godwin of two years ago would attract more eyeballs as his junior year saw him catch 38 passes and 639 yards to go with six touchdowns. With Godwin’s athleticism that also attracted the eye of MLB scouts, his ability to make plays in space and on corner routes in the red zone, he fits in nicely in an offense. And if the postseason run of all-star games means anything, Godwin has not forgotten how to make plays, as the MVP Award from the East-West Shrine Game shows.
If nothing else, fans of Godwin’s NFL home should enjoy this preview...
This past year, however, lower body injuries slowed Godwin to 23 catches for 385 yards and a trio of touchdowns.
If Godwin stays healthy, he has a strong chance to make a big impact in the NFC South.
Go Dawgs!
