Gym Dogs Look To Get Back On Track vs. Razorbacks

NCAA Gymnastics: Women’s Gymnastics Championships
Now THAT’S how you celebrate nailing a full yurchenko!
Joe Puetz-USA TODAY Sports

The Gym Dogs return to the friendly confines of Stegeman Coliseum Friday night, hosting the Arkansas Razorbacks. When last we left our intrepid young gymnasts, they were coming off a close loss to the home Auburn Tigers.

Our ladies in Red & Black fell behind on the opening uneven bars, but came back strong to post a season-high in team vault. Three 9.900’s from our three upperclassmen (Snead, Dickson, Vega) helped UGA pull back within striking distance. A not so great floor session almost sealed the deal, but not before the Gym Dogs set another season high on balance beam. The final tally was 196.400 to Auburn’s 196.775. I hate Auburn.

But at least our Ladies of the Vault & Beam will return to a supportive home crowd Friday night. The Steg should be rockin’, welcoming the 24th ranked Razorbacks. On paper, we got this. But we were also ranked higher than Auburn.

So turn out to the meet if you can. If not, it will be broadcast on SEC Network at 7:00 pm. And as always...

GO ‘DAWGS!!!
