No one expects Georgia to win this game.
We’re going to have to play near-perfect football.
We’ll need big plays and a turnover or two.
Win, and we’re in the playoff. Lose and we have to watch the chaos from afar.
It’s enough to make you want to drink.
It’s like this. Georgia has little or nothing to lose here. It would be fantastic to book a trip to the College Football Playoff, something that we could only have dreamed of when the playoff format was instituted. Georgia’s now entered Playoff Saturday with a real shot to play for it all in each of the last three seasons. Other than Oklahoma and Clemson, nobody else in college football can say that. It’s a great place to be.
Players come to Georgia to play in games like this. Coaches sign up for the chance to coach in them. And you suffered through the Goff and Donnan years in order to watch it (or maybe that was just me because, you know, old).
Point is, I’m just dying to see what the most dominant defense in the SEC can do against the league’s most explosive offense. Let’s do it.
