NCAA Football: SEC Championship-Alabama vs Georgia Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Championship week is here, and the stakes are sky high. Will LSU cap a perfect season? More importantly, will the Dawgs win a second SEC title in three years and clinch a spot in the Playoffs?

Before we line up against the Tigers and seek revenge for last season’s beatdown in the real Death Valley (hello, Dabo), let’s recap what the other programs of the SEC are up to.

Here’s what’s happening around the SEC:

  • After losing the Iron Bowl, Alabama dropped to #12 in the CFP rankings, all but eliminating them from a New Years 6 bowl. This is by far the lowest the Tide have been ranked in any CFP rankings.
  • Ole Miss has fired head coach Matt Luke after a 15-21 record in three seasons. Ole Miss players are not happy about this and are threatening a mass-transfer
  • Missouri has fired head coach Barry Odom after four seasons and a record that seemingly always hovered around .500.
  • Vanderbilt running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn has officially declared for the NFL Draft. Vaughn is a very good running back who should get his shot in the NFL as a late round draft pick.
  • South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley and Florida quarterback Feleipe Franks have both entered the NCAA transfer portal. We’ll see where both will eventually end up, but I personally think in the right situation, Bentley could seriously thrive in his finally collegiate season.

Until next time… GO DAWGS!!!
