The Volley Dawgs are going dancing.
For the first time since 2013, Georgia’s volleyball program has earned an NCAA tournament berth, a strong credit to the work that Tom Black continues to do since taking over the program three years ago.
Georgia faces Cal-Poly on Friday in the first round of the regional hosted by Stanford, the overall No. 3 National Seed. If Georgia wins, it would face the winner of Stanford and Denver. The winner of the Stanford regional faces either Illinois, No. 14 BYU, New Mexico State or Utah.

Overall, there are five SEC schools in the field, led by No. 9 seed Kentucky.
Women’s basketball headed to Daytona Beach for the Daytona Beach Invitational and now has itself a three-game winning streak, having topped Virginia Tech 77-72 - the Hokies first loss of the season. Georgia also breezed by Butler 69-36, giving the Lady Dawgs two wins in a row overall over postseason teams from last year.

Georgia got the win as three players scored in double figures, led by Gabby Connally’s 22, Jenna Staiti’s 16 and Que Morrison’s 10. More critical for Connally? Going 7-of-7 from the charity stripe.
A stern challenge awaits Wednesday night at No. 2 Baylor before hosting Furman on Sunday.
Go Dawgs!
