Dawg Bites Fallout Thursday

The silly season is in full-bloom. I think we all need a good anti-histamine.

Good morning, Dawgs and Dawgettes. By the recent head-counts, it would seem that we haven’t lost too many of you ever since our unfortunate case of “the bends” in the Benz. Of course, the week ain’t done yet.

Yesterday, DawgOutWest worried about the Sam Pittman fallout regarding shootin’, lootin’, and recrootin’. The first casualty of Pittman’s departure has been realized. Offensive lineman prospect Josh Braun announced he’s no longer pledged to the Red n‘ Black. We wish him all the best, except during a certain weekend in Jacksonville every late October/early November. Word of the street is some other prospect might just jump at the chance to take Braun’s now vacant scholarship, so we’ll see how this plays out. The offensive line cupboard ain’t bare, folks. This position is the least of our worries. (Wow. I couldn’t imagine typing that 4 or 5 years ago).

Conversely, this popped up just as I was writing today’s edition of Dawg Bites. There has been some “chatter” that Dan Lanning could be a candidate to become part of Mike Norvell’s evolving FSU staff.

Dan is still the man in Athens.

What if Zamir “Zeus” White, in 2020, can come back from two knee injuries and realize his full potential - the type of talent that some recruiting services suggested was generational? That would be something.

Julian Rochester is looking forward to 2020, after sitting out all but 3 games this year. The soon-to-be redshirt senior defensive tackle will hopefully return to his 2017 form. He’s going to be an importance piece of what should be an insane defense next season.

J.R. Reed and Richard LeCounte have decided they want to go bowling. Damn good Dawgs.

That’s how you do it.

Prather Hudson has elected to enter the transfer portal, forgoing his last year of eligibility. We all wish #24 nothing but the very best. I think he’ll make someone’s squad much, much better.

FInally, a shameless plug for My Old School.

Go Warriors!

That’s all I’ve got. As Always...

GO DAWGS!
