Gameday Morning Dawg Bites and Open Comment Thread

It’s time I had some time alone...

It’s a big day in the SEC. Not least of all, because the LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide are playing and probably determining which of them will be visiting Atlanta in December. Where the Georgia Bulldogs are concerned, we have the Missouri Tigers coming to town for a game that the Dawgs will probably win and which will likely, as has become the norm, cause significant consternation. And yet, I remain unmoved. In that vein, I bring you the one R.E.M. track that any true R.E.M. fan should avoid referencing at all cost because doing so is just so obvious and cliché at this point. But, alas, we live in an era where even those things that bring us joy must be dissected and deconstructed ad nauseam. For the record, I resent feeling compelled to do this:

Here are some Dawg Bites or whatever...

  • The “experts” certainly think Georgia will win, although a couple don’t believe they’ll cover.
  • If you choose to believe that statistics actually mean anything (which, *spoiler alert*, they very often do), here are some regarding tonight’s game that might be of interest.
  • Todd McShay seems to think the Dawgs have a legitimate, if not good, chance of making the playoff. I cannot adequately express my rage at finding myself agreeing with aspects of a Todd McShay argument.
  • The Red and Black has some power rankings that place the Dawgs in the first tier. There are surely arguments for and against.

This is also the comment thread for your gameday morning. Macondawg will be along with additional threads later in the day. Until then...

GOOOO DAWGS!!!
