Your University of Georgia Bulldogs carded their seventh win of the 2019 – 2020 season last night. The Classic City Canines took a 3 – 0 lead in the first quarter of this years World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party and never, ever relinquished it. There was a moment late in the game when the Gators had a glimmer of hope only to have it snatched away like Lucy VanPelt holding a football for Charlie Brown to kick.
It is our intention to celebrate Georgia Bulldog Football Wins whenever and wherever they occur. The ugliness of any particular win is irrelevant for the purposes of the Winning Smart Victory Post. This particular win was glorious. Then again, there are few things I enjoy more than a Bulldog win over the Gators
It is therefore my deepest honor and privilege to bring to you this week’s edition of: The Winning Smart Victory Post.
Coach Kirby Smart coached his 50th game tonight for the Red & Black. He currently boasts a 39-11 record and a 0.7800 winning percentage, having carded his thirty-ninth win overall over the University of Florida Gators.
At the identical juncture in their careers:
Vince Dooley’s 50th game as head coach resulted in a Georgia Bulldog tie with the Houston Cougars in the 1968 season. Giving Coach Dooley a record of 35-12-3 and 0.7300 percentage.
Coach Mark Richt was 40-10 (0.8000) after losing to the Auburn Tigers in his fourth season as head coach.
Fifty games into his head coaching career Kirby Smart is one game behind Coach Mark Richt and ahead of Coach Vince Dooley by 2 ½ games. As of now, he is holding his own versus the two winningest coaches in Georgia Football History.
As always . . .
Go ‘Dawgs !!!
