Its rivalry week, baby! We’ve got eggs and apples and iron to spare. And that means we have Thanksgiving action and a full slate of Friday games (of varying quality). It promises to be an exciting weekend across the college football landscape with UGA visiting historic Mark Richt Field and Alabama’s last chance to notch a “quality” win. While some of us may be looking ahead to conference championship games, let’s hope that the players taking the field aren’t. Let’s do this:

And now for the most interesting options in each time slot:
Thursday
Ole Miss Rebels @ Mississippi St. Bulldogs, 7:30 pm, ESPN
Ahh, a 4-win Ole Miss taking on a 5-win Mississippi State. Talk about traditions! Such fond memories of Egg Bowls of yore.
Friday
Washington State Cougars @ Washington Huskies, 4:00 p.m., FOX
It’s time to sail the high seas to another Apple Cup! Unfortunately, the Cougars are winless on the road... but the Huskies are just .500 at home, so who knows?
Noon
#4 Georgia Bulldogs @ Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 12:00 p.m., ABC
I hate Georgia Tech. Not because of anything they’ve accomplished on the field, mind you... but because of who they are. Georgia can, should, and better run them out of a stadium that (as usual) will favor the Dawgs. This seems like a good time to tune up for what promises to be an extremely tough game against LSU in a week and a strong performance could do a world of good for the morale of the fanbase, the confidence of the players, and what I have to imagine is the fragile psyche of James Coley. And if this doesn’t do it for you, I guess you can watch Ohio State/Michigan and see Jim Harbaugh lose. Again.
Afternoon
#5 Alabama Crimson Tide @ #15 Auburn Tigers, 3:30 p.m., CBS
Choosing the Iron Bowl is kind of a no-brainer. I don’t know that it will be particularly close, but the sheer hatred makes it must see TV.
Evening
Texas A&M Aggies @ #2 LSU Tigers, 7:00 p.m., ESPN
If the first 3 quarters of last week’s game are any indication, LSU is likely to run the score up in this one. But given next week’s matchup, the Georgia fan in me needs to watch it anyway.
Late Night
Army Black Knights @ Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, 12:30 am, CBSSN
I don’t particularly think this is the matchup of this time slot, but I’m intrigued with the idea of watching live football at 3 a.m.. We’re going to find out if it’s as fun as I think it could be.
That’s all for this week, folks. Until next time...
Wreck Tech and GOOOO DAWGS!!!
