The skies have cleared and the offenses have re-emerged in Athens. After a terrible 1 for 7 start Jake Fromm settled down and led the Red and Black on a touchdown drive capped by a solid strike to George Pickens to put the ‘Dawgs up 13-3 at the half.
The Bulldog defense has looked stout as usual, holding the Aggies to 73 total yards. 82 of them have come through the air. Those last two sentences only sound weird if you don’t know that A&M had -9 yards rushing. For context, the Aggies average 175 rushing yards per game. The Bulldog defense: still good.
The Bulldog offense on the other hand has put together a couple of nice drives and rolled up 133 yards of total offense. Given the weather conditions that prevailed for the first twenty minutes of the game, that’s actually not terrible.
The Ags will get the ball to start the second half. A stop by the UGA defense and subsequent score by the UGA offense wouldn’t put this one away. But it would come close.
Go ‘Dawgs!
