Georgia Overview
The Dawgs scared us all at first, but we eventually cruised to a 43-14 victory over Tennessee in Neyland Stadium. Jake Fromm played great, our O-Line was dominant, and Eric Stokes ruined the poor Tennessee quarterback’s evening with a crushing strip sack that Tae Crowder took to the house.
Georgia remained at #3 in the polls, albeit now tied with Ohio State, and will host South Carolina this weekend.
Movers
Fell Out: #15 Washington, #18 UCF, #21 Oklahoma State, #25 Michigan State
Newcomers: #22 Baylor, #23 Memphis, #25 Cincinnati
Overrated
#10 Penn State. The Nittany Lions jumped into the Top 10 by virtue of soundly beating Purdue and Auburn losing. This team doesn’t scream out contender, and they will face Iowa, Michigan, and Michigan State in their next three games. I see them going 2-1 in those games, and maybe even 1-2.
Underrated
#22 Baylor. That sound you here is the Bears potentially being 9-0 coming into their showdown with Oklahoma. Matt Rhule has the Bears playing great, and the Big 12 isn’t a murder’s row of opponents in 2019. They should stay in the rankings through October at least.
This Week’s Top 25 Matchups
#6 Oklahoma vs. #11 Texas
#1 Alabama at #24 Texas A&M
#10 Penn State at #17 Iowa
#7 Florida at #5 LSU
Upset Alert
Last week, I correctly called Cincinnati knocking off UCF. This week, I’m taking Texas making it two straight wins (at the Texas State Fair) over Oklahoma.
