I don’t know if y’all were ready for a bye week, but I definitely was (if only to bring my blood pressure back down to a reasonable level). The weekend offers up a bevy of quality matchups that we can enjoy in a relatively low-stress environment, which sounds like just what the doctor ordered. So sit back, crack open a cold one, and chill. Let’s go:

And now for my favorite selections in each of the weekend’s time slots:
Thursday
#16 SMU Mustangs @ Houston Cougars, 7:30 pm, ESPN
It should be interesting to see if the Cougars can mount anything that will challenge the Mustangs. If you choose to watch this one, I implore you to watch in pairs, keep your eyes peeled, and stay in well lit areas... Craig James could be anywhere.
Friday
USC Trojans @ Colorado Buffaloes, 9:00 pm, ESPN2
If you miss Mel Tucker as much as I do, here’s a chance to catch up. The Buffaloes have struggled offensively the last couple of weeks, but USC has the 92nd ranked total defense so maybe they’ll be able to get something going.
Noon
#13 Wisconsin Badgers @ #3 Ohio State Buckeyes, 12:00 pm, FOX
Last weekend’s results obviously took a little of the sheen off this matchup. That said, it’ll still be the first real test for the Buckeyes, so let’s see how it goes.
Afternoon
#9 Auburn Tigers @ #2 LSU Tigers, 3:30 pm, CBS
Cat Fight! Meow.
Evening
#8 Notre Dame Fighting Irish @ #19 Michigan Wolverines, 7:30 pm, ABC
I eagerly await the newest edition of the Jim Harbaugh Bedwetting Experience™. The pulsing vein in his forehead gives me life.
Late Night
Washington State Cougars @ #11 Oregon Ducks, 10:30 pm, ESPN
Sunday Mornings at 1 am are just better with The Pirate.
That’s all for this week, folks. Until next time...
GOOOO DAWGS!!!
