Gameday Morning Dawg Bites and Open Comment Thread

It’s another beautiful morning in the Classic City! Or just outside it, in my case. As of this writing, the temperature is 59° and, despite more humidity than I’d like, dangerously close to being brisk. It’ll be warmer by kickoff at noon, of course, but it certainly beats the pants off playing Week 2 in the asphalt ecosystem they’ve constructed in Columbia. The noon kickoff isn’t ideal. Not because I don’t like the game at that time, mind you... I love the night games and the 3:30 ones, too, but I’m just not good at waiting patiently for things. No, the problem with noon games is that it cuts short your tailgate time, whether that means physically tailgating on campus or prepping food at home and engaging in beverage-based pregame shenanigans. And since our time is short, we should probably go ahead and get to it.

Let’s go:

And now for your Gameday Morning Dawg Bites:

  • First up, it’s always fun to see what the opposing side thinks will happen, so here are some predictions from 247Sports and the Gamecock point of view. I don’t know that Georgia will cover the spread, but I’m having a hard time seeing where South Carolina comes up with ~20 points.
  • Dawgs247 has an update on the redshirt situation for Georgia’s scholarship players going into today’s game.
  • Saturday Down South has some bold predictions for today’s game... including a particularly bold one that I think Dawg fans would very much like to see.
  • Finally, I’m just gonna put this here.

This is also your morning open comment thread. Given the time constraints I’ll be doing an abbreviated menu and the smoker will have to wait for another day. Let us know how you’re spending the hours leading up to the contest between your #3 Georgia Bulldogs and the South Carolina Gamecocks and share your thoughts on today’s game and the usual College Gameday tomfoolery should you choose to partake in viewing said program. Macondawg will be back just before noon with your 1st quarter open thread and then again with additional threads throughout the day/evening.

Until later...
