Four Star Corner Tyrique Stevenson Is A ‘Dawg!

After a full day of defections on Friday, Georgia fans got some good news on Saturday with the addition of 2019 four star cornerback Tyrique Stevenson out of Miami. Stevenson picked the Bulldogs over fellow finalists Miami and Florida as well as a host of other offers.

The #38 player in the nation according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Stevenson is also rated the #4 cornerback in the nation and #6 player in the state of Florida. Once in Athens however he’s less likely to be a true corner and more likely to play the sort of hybrid star position Coach Smart coaches so well at Alabama and brought with him to Georgia.

At 6’1 and 202 pounds Stevenson is big enough to come up and play the run or cover tight ends. But what makes him unique is that he’s also an exceptional coverage guy who can go man-to-man with wide receivers and running backs.

Stevenson’s commitment keeps Georgia in second place in the recruiting rankings behind Alabama with a few remaining targets set to announce between now and Signing Day on February 6th.

Go ‘‘Dawgs!!!
