Mecole makes three: Hardman headed to the NFL

NCAA Football: SEC Championship-Alabama vs Georgia Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Well, this one kind of stings.

Mecole Hardman will join Isaac Nauta and Riley Ridley in the NFL draft. Hardman stepped into his five star potential in 2018 with 34 receptions for 532 yards and 7 touchdowns, while also serving as a dangerous weapon on kick returns.

After today’s events a Georgia passing attack that was the most lethal in recent memory will now enter 2019 without three of its four leading wide receivers and without both its top tight end and the former five star recruit many had presumed would replace him.

JJ Holloman now returns as the leading receiver, a role he seems well-qualified for after a 24 catch, 418 yard season. Tyler Simmons also looks set for a larger role, along with Demetris Robertson. Rising junior Trey Blount also stands to gain snaps, along with 2018 signees Tommy Bush and Kearis Jackson. True freshmen Dominick Blaylock and Makiya Tongue should also get a look, along with little-used big man Matt Landers.
