Around the SEC

NCAA Basketball: Kentucky at Georgia Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Good afternoon Dawg Nation! As we have moved full throttle into conference play, Around the SEC will now be (mostly) dedicated to basketball news and headlines. It’s time we get like Tennessee and become good at basketball, but then also do the exact opposite of Tennessee and still remain dominant in football as well. Tennessee is a basketball school; we need to become a multi-sport school.

Anyways, here is what’s happening Around the SEC:

  • Kentucky is about to face-off against three consecutive ranked programs for the first time in the Calipari era, with Auburn, Mississippi State, and Kansas looming on the horizon.
  • Noted basketball school Tennessee is making a push to be ranked #1 in the nation following Duke’s loss to Syracuse.
  • South Carolina continued their hot start to conference play, improving to 4-0 after defeating Vanderbilt despite a lackluster performance by SEC Player of the Year candidate Chris Silva.
  • Speaking of Vanderbilt, the Commodores picked up a commitment from guard Scotty Pippen, Jr. this week.

Until next time… GO DAWGS!!!
