Free Form Friday: The Winter of Our Discontent is Upon Us.

NCAA Football: Iowa at Wisconsin Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

This is Free Form Friday. It is a necessary evil, the thing we do to get through college football’s offseason, filling the time previously devoted to getting ready to go to Sanford Stadium with, well, other random stuff. It’s certified gluten free and contains no antibiotics. Might be some growth hormones, though. We bought the party favors from some Clemson defensive linemen so who’s to say?

Maestro, the music:

The College Football offseason is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, college football generally and Georgia Bulldog football in particular are basically the reason this place is here (virtually, of course). On the other, it takes a little bit of a toll. The grind of early mornings and late nights writing and catching up on college football news and bringing it back here is well, a lot. Since most of the staff here also have what one might term “real jobs”, the slower pace that prevails from mid-January to mid-July also has its charms.

You’ll certainly see soon enough what we’ll be up to this offseason. GlimmerTwinDawg has already kicked off our annual conversion to a pro golf blog with the first ‘Dawgs on Tour of 2019. And we’ll continue to chronicle Tom Crean’s efforts to remake the Hoop Hounds in his image, follow what could be an exciting season for the nationally ranked Gym Dogs, Joni Taylor’s Lady ‘Dawgs, the Diamond ‘Dawgs, and a host of other stuff.

But before we get there, what have you got going on this winter, spring, and summer? We want to know in the comments below. Unless the answer is “rewatch the Sugar Bowl.” Nobody wants to hear that. But if you’re planning to take up any new hobbies, tackling any long-sidelined projects, or have ideas for offseason coverage here at Dawg Sports, we’d love to know. Until later...

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
