Deangelo Gibbs fought through medical issues that took him away from the team in the spring and a shoulder issue that hampered him in camp to play some productive snaps at the Star position. Gibbs showed great range, and finished the day tied for second on the team with 4 tackles.

Former Lee County standout Otis Reese was among 16 freshmen who saw the field. Though some of them will end up redshirting, some will also end up becoming key contributors, and reinforcing Kirby Smart’s ethos that the best players play, regardless of class.
