It is a day of rest, except here at Dawg Sports. Because here it’s still the Monday of a conference game week, and that means you still need to know what’s going on in Bulldog Nation.
Since Saturday night one of the major storylines in college football has been Nick Saban’s childish rant following his team’s win over Louisville.
Georgia alumna and all-around DGD Maria Taylor handled it well, because she is a consummate professional. Saban loves to use these media moments to deliver messages to his team, but his reaction was absurdly immature. And while the Armani Bear reportedly apologized to Taylor afterward, it seems he’s still managed to create one of the distractions he so abhors. That's hilarious.
Georgia will open as a 9.5 point favorite over South Carolina. Playing on the road at Williams-Brice, that would have felt like a sucker’s bet in prior years.
Speaking of the Gamecocks, Garnet and Black Attack is pleased with the early returns on offensive coordinator Bryan McClendon, as well as most other aspects of their win over Coastal Carolina.
Bulldog Illustrated’s Savannah Richardson looks at which freshmen played Saturday (hint: a lot), and which ones demonstrated that they're ready for more reps. Expect the ‘Dawgs to play a ton of young players in the early going then pare back and perhaps redshirt some of the not-ready-for-primetime players. Until later....
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
