NFL Dawgs Update

Whether you follow the NFL or not, it’s always nice to see how former Dawgs are doing...and trying not to lament heavily how good the 2008 team could have been...

The Rams remained unbeaten with a 35-23 win over the Chargers. Fantasy football favorite Todd Gurley had 105 yards and a touchdown, catching five passes for 51 yards as well. Ramik Wilson had a solid day for the Rams on defense, logging nine tackles, one for a loss.

The Lions got a big primetime win over the Patriots as Matthew Stafford was 27-of-36 for 262 yards and a pair of touchdowns. For the Patriots, Sony Michel continued to establish himself in the backfield with 50 yards behind an offensive line again having David Andrews at center.

The Chiefs also remained unbeaten thanks to Chris Conley’s two catches for 13 yards and a touchdown. Justin Houston also had five tackles and two sacks.

Ben Watson had a productive day for the Saints in their overtime win against the Falcons, hauling in five receptions for 71 yards.

Abry Jones had a tackle for the Jaguars in a 9-6 loss to the Titans, who had Ben Jones at center on the offensive line.

In what may as well be Athens north, Cincy keeps getting good mileage from Georgia products. Clint Boling and Cordy Glenn started at left guard and tackle for a group that had 418 yards in a 31-21 loss to Carolina. Geno Atkins and Shawn Williams each had five tackles to go with AJ Green’s five catches for 58 yards prior to leaving the game with an injury.

Georgia continues to have an impact on the Giants defense. In a 27-22 win against Houston, Alec Ogletree had five tackles and an interception, Lorenzo Carter had two tackles and a sack with John Jenkins registering a QB hit.

The Bears topped the Cardinals 16-14 with Roquan Smith logging four tackles and Leonard Floyd having one.

Nick Chubb played a role in the Browns emotional win, having two carries for six yards. Jordan Jenkins had two tackles and a sack for the Jets.

Go Dawgs!
