Winning Smart Victory Post: Governor’s Edition

It is our intention to celebrate Georgia Bulldog Football Wins whenever and wherever they occur. The ugliness of any particular win is irrelevant for the purposes of the Winning Smart Victory Post.

It is therefore my deepest honor and privilege to bring to you this week’s edition of: Winning Smart Victory Post.

Coach Kirby Smart currently boasts a 22-7 record and a 0.759 winning percentage, having carded his twenty-second win overall over the Austin-Peay Governor’s Between The Hedges to open the 2018-2019 season.

At the identical juncture in their careers:

Vince Dooley’s 29th game as head coach resulted in a Georgia Bulldog win over the University of Florida Gators giving Coach Dooley a record of 20-8-1 and 0.6896 percentage.

Coach Mark Richt was 24-5 (0.8276) after beating the South Carolina Gamecocks in his third season as head coach.

Twenty nine games in to his head coaching career Kirby Smart is two games behind Coach Mark Richt and ahead of Coach Vince Dooley by 2 ½ games. He is holding his own versus two winningest coaches in Georgia Football History.
