Your Week 4 College Football TV Schedule

Brought to you by Jimmy Sexton... who appears to have found a way to screw FSU over. Twice. Simultaneously.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Ahhh,,,, here we go. Things are starting to really settle out and the majority of the cupcakes have been consumed, digested, and... well...

What the weekend lacks in ranked vs. ranked competition (although there are a couple doozies), it makes up for in numerous contests between teams of relative equal quality. If your preseason conference championship and playoff hopes are already dashed (and, Gamecocks, no matter what Coach Larry says, they are), that’s about the best you can ask for.

Let’s do this:

And now, on to my picks for your best viewing options in each time slot...

Thursday

Tulsa Golden Hurricane @ Temple Owls, 7:30 p.m., ESPN

Your only choice. But given the trash games we’ve had on Thursday nights thus far, we could do worse.

Friday

#10 Penn State Nittany Lions @ Illinois Fighting Illini, 9:00 pm, FS1

On the one hand, I find Big 10 football excruciatingly boring. On the other, I quite like Lovie Smith, can’t stand James Franklin, and would quite enjoy watching the former administer a beating to the latter. On the third (previously hidden) hand (which may or may not have been purchased from a black market “arms” dealer), I will be watching the Harvard Crimson and Brown Bears pummel one another about the head and shoulders with white gloves as they demand satisfaction (7:00 p.m., ESPNU).

Saturday Noon

#3 Georgia Bulldogs @ Missouri Tigers, 12:00 p.m., ESPN

While my personal take on this game is that it won’t be especially close, it certainly looks like the best game on the noon slate.

Saturday Afternoon

#22 Texas A&M Aggies @ #1 Alabama Crimson Tide, 3:30 p.m., CBS

Ahhhh... an emotionless robot vs. the world’s most excitable boy. What a glorious way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Evening

Florida Gators @ Tennessee Volunteers, 7:00 p.m,, ESPN

I’m very tempted to watch the #7 Stanford Cardinal and the #20 Oregon Ducks face off, but my PAC-12 fix will have to be postponed (until... wait. for. it. ... AFTER DARK!). The potential schadenfreude of watching two currently-garbage rivals beat up on each other is just too great.

Late Night

Arizona State Sun Devils @ #10 Washington Huskies, 10:30 p.m., ESPN

And there it is!

That’s all for this week, folks. Until next time...

GOOOO DAWGS!!!
