Given the current news out of tOSU, you might be forgiven for not realizing Georgia nabbed four-star JUCO transfer Jermaine Johnson II today. With this addition, the Bulldogs take the top spot in the recruiting rankings from the Crimson Tide.

Jermaine comes in as the top ranked JUCO transfer for the 2019 class. At 6’ 6” and 260 lbs he played Weak-Side Defensive End for Independence Community College. He may compete with fellow 2019 recruit Nolan Smith for playing time. Primary recruiters were Glenn Schumann and Dan Lanning.

As early as July 20, Jake Rowe of 247 Sports expected this commitment so it’s not a huge surprise. If you aren’t familiar with Jermaine or Independence CC, Last Chance U is featuring the team in Season 3 that Netflix only started airing two weeks ago. Just tell your significant other you want low-key Netflix and Chill for the weekend. I’m sure they’ll understand.

Georgia now has 17 commits to Alabama’s 20. In Georgia’s class are 5 five-stars, 11 four-stars and 1 three-star for combined average of 94.57 and a total of 287.36. Alabama’s class includes 1 five-star, 18 four-stars and 1 three-star for a combined average of 93.08 and a total of 286.07

With a class this good at this point, we can cue up the innuendo and pseudo-accusations from our friends of SEC fandom.
