July Fourth...taking it easy, celebrating America..hopefully not grilling burgers and calling it a BBQ...then news that nearly caused a heart attach -
“Fromm breaks bone in hand.”
Thankfully for many reasons, it’s much ado about nothing.
Obviously, it helps a lot of that it’s Fromm’s non-throwing hand. Blend that in with the injury being minor, and the impact on Fromm as preseason camp starts should be minimal, if anything.
In other words...throw an ice bucket over talk of the Fields era being now.
Naturally, it spotlights why Kirby Smart and his staff cannot afford to be complacent about existing talent on the roster...and the reason why many in the program were sad to see Stetson Bennett transfer, even if he was a walk-on.
Who knows...maybe the fact that Fromm’s pair of offseason injuries have been minor when they could have been much worse is a sign that the ‘Georgia Sports Curse’ is on its way out the back door.
One can hope.
