The first two days of the NFL draft set the Georgia Bulldogs up on a pace to push their school record of eight players selected in a single season.
The final day, not so much. Javon Wims was the only Bulldog who heard his name called on the final day, meaning that a host of contributors to Georgia’s 2017 SEC title run will now have to continue their football dreams as undrafted free agents.
Admittedly, some have argued that being a free agent can be more advantageous than being a late round selection. Free agents can entertain offers from multiple teams, and select the schemes, staffs, and depth charts they believe give them the best shot at success.
We’ll try to keep track of which UGA players sign free agent deals, and where, in this thread. Additionally, if you see interesting free agent signings from other SEC schools or elsewhere around the nation, feel free to drop those in the comments as well. So far here’s what we know:
- Cornerback Aaron Davis will be joining his defensive teammate Lorenzo Carter in New York.
Most drawn out process of my life, but this phase is finally over. I’m taking my talents to NY to be a Giant! Can’t wait to get there and my work is just now beginning!

- John Atkins has become the third UGA player to sign with the New England Patriots.
- Davin Bellamy is headed to Houston to join the Texans.
Houston Texans!

We’re still waiting on word on defensive tackle Trenton Thompson, tight end Jeb Blazevich, safety Dominick Sanders, and linebacker Reggie Carter. Until later . . .
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
