Villanova and Michigan are preparing to square off in a battle of new and old powerhouses in college basketball. Villanova is looking to win its second title in three years. Michigan is looking to hoist the banner for the first time since 1989. Though, to be fair, it looks like the 2012-2013 Wolverines who lost to Louisville in the finale may be able to claim that vacated title in a sense. But I digress.
The Wildcats have won each of their five tournament games by double digits, and enter the finale a seven point favorite to win it all, the biggest spread for the tournament tile game since Duke was favored over Butler by seven in 2010. ‘Nova has showcased an explosive offense, setting a tournament record for three pointers. Michigan on the other hand is giving up a measley 58.6 points per game in the Big Dance. It’ll be an interesting contrast in styles to close out the college basketball season.
Tipoff is set for 9:20 pm eastern with television coverage on TBS.
