For a few long moments on Sunday evening Georgia Bulldog fans on Twitter were thrown into terror by the following tweet from five star defensive end and 2019 commit Nolan Smith.

Smith has been pledged to the Bulldogs since January 2017, and has steadily risen up the rankings. The Savannah native now matriculating at IMG Academy in Florida in now the #5 player in the nation and the #1 player in the Sunshine State. He’s also played a key role in building the Dawgs’ class, currently ranked #1 in the nation by 247Sports. So losing Smith would be a big blow.

Alas, for Clemson and Alabama fans, it was not to be.
Smith confirmed a bit later that he’s not going anywhere.
April Fools... #HappyEaster2018 https://t.co/10XcVRU31O

There was a time when Smith’s decommitment looked like a solid bet. Not so much in the last few months. Smith seems to be more and more solidly pledged to the Red and Black than ever before, April Fool’s Day jokes notwithstanding. Also, Tyler Simmons was definitely onside, and that’s no joke. Until later...
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
