It’s pretty unlikely that Saturday’s NCAA Tournament action is going to deliver anything like the historic pandemonium of Friday night’s loss (nay, beatdown) by Virginia at the hands of the Maryland-Baltimore County Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. But there’s still plenty of compelling basketball to watch.
Alabama starts us off at 12:10 p.m. against #1 seed Villanova on CBS. Full disclosure, I picked ‘Nova to win it all, so I’ll be rooting against the Taahhhhhddddd with even more gusto than usual.
The #2 seeded Duke Blue Devils follow with a matchup against the #7 Rhode Island Rams at 2:40. If you’re sending a pattern, you’re right. A first round that was light on upsets means a second round with lots of highly seeded basketball teams. In fact, Kentucky (#5) vs. Buffalo (#13) at 5:15 on CBS is the only game of today’s contests which doesn’t feature a team seeded 4th or higher.
So hang out, enjoy a Guinness or three with your corned beef and cabbage, and watch some quality college basketball action. Full schedule, along with tons of other tournament news, can be found on the SB Nation college basketball page.
