Georgia will hit the road again on Wednesday for a rematch with the Florida Gators. The Bulldogs need a win in the worst way having lost three straight and eight of the last 10.
One of those victories in that stretch was a 72-60 win over Florida at Stegeman. The Bulldogs pulled away in the second half behind 20 points from Yante Maten and 16 from Turtle Jackson. Since that win, Georgia has suffered losses to Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and Auburn. They currently sit at 13-11 overall and 4-8 in conference play.
Florida brings a two game winning streak into the game and seems to have have righted the ship after a mid-season lull that saw them drop three out of four. They are coming off of a 65-41 win over South Carolina on Saturday. Jalen Hudson and Chris Chiozza led the way with 12 points each.
With their tourney hopes on life support, rumors are starting to circulate about Mark Fox’s job security. The Bulldogs’ struggles aren’t tied to a lack of effort but rather a lack of consistency and it will be interesting to see how they respond to another three-game losing streak.
