You’ve hit the post-Christmas sales, unpacked all the toys, and finished your fifth turkey, ham and cranberry sauce sandwich (served between slices of cornbread dressing).
Now let’s get back to college football.
Boise State and Boston College are getting ready to square off in the First Responder Bowl live from the Cotton Bowl in Dallas (which ironically isn’t hosting the actual Cotton Bowl). That’s a 1:30 pm start on ESPN.
Also on ESPN the Paul Johnson era at Georgia Tech will come to its exciting conclusion in the Quick Lane Bowl live from sunny Detroit (5:15 pm). Today, we are all Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Finally, the Cheez-It Bowl will match TCU and Cal in actually sunny Phoenix (9:00 pm, ESPN). TCU’s offense hasn’t been terribly explosive this season, and I’m curious to see if a month off to prep for Justin Wilcox’s Cal defense will change that. I somewhat doubt it, but that’s why they play the games.
So if you’ve had just about enough of Uncle Mel, and cousin Jan’s kids are about to drive you insane, go ahead and slip off for some you time. And by “you time” I obviously mean time with us, and some midgrade college football. You’ve earned it.
