It’s Auburn week and the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry will be an electric night game between the hedges this year. Don’t be fooled by Auburn’s record, either. Pro Football Focus as the Tigers as the 10th best team in the nation, while Sagarin has Auburn as the 19th ranked team. This game will be tough and physical.
Before the Dawgs and Tigers kick off, let’s check in with the other teams in the conference.
Here’s what’s happening around the SEC:
… there isn’t a whole lot to report. The LSU staring girl has been identified, and Ole Miss QB Jordan Ta’amu is banged up. Outside of that, not a whole lot to report on.
Because why, you might ask? Well, the Dawgs and the Tide are once against the cream of the crop in the SEC. LSU just got shut out and their major news story is about a new meme. Kentucky was a nice story but they are firmly in Tier 2 of the SEC. And Florida just let Missouri smack them around.
Furthermore, Alabama looks like such a juggernaut that former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville has accused them of sucking the fun out of the game. Which, is both partly true and a whole lot of “not their fault”. As Herm Edwards once said, “You play to win the game”, and the Tide have been better than that than anyone over the past decade.
Tua Tagovailoa is running away with the Heisman, most likely leading to another year of poor ratings for the Heisman ceremony. Bama will cruise into the SEC Championship Game undefeated, and the rest of the SEC will battle it out for third place while the Dawgs will try once again to dethrone the king.
We’ll report back on Friday with any news that broke throughout the week around the league, but for now, the SEC is essentially on autopilot until the SECCG.
…except for The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. Nothing can take away from the passion and excitement for this game. Let’s go out there remind the Tigers who the reigning SEC Champs are.
Until next time… GO DAWGS!!!
