Thanksgiving Day ‘Dawg Bites Gives You Turkey: A Musical Journey

Welcome to Thanksgiving, Bulldog Fans! I hope you are able to spend this national holiday of thanks with those you hold dear, and to celebrate how you like.

So you’re all likely familiar with how RedCrake gives you his vast and varied 90’s musical introspection on Friday mornings. And you might have picked up on how I thumbed my nose at him and kept strictly to the cheese of the 80’s; because I’m old like that and I have little in the way of generally accepted musical taste. With that in mind, and because in the separation agreement I have custody of the website on holidays this year, I bring you Turkey from the 1980’s. Please, if you have a few minutes, watch it all the way through. Just when you thought it couldn’t get better:

Now onto news and notes of the Georgia Bulldog world. It’s late in the week, and a holiday to boot, so forgive me if this is a bit scarce:

Since it’s the day to be thankful, let’s go ahead and get out all the feels. The Macon Telegraph summarizes the current senior class of Bulldogs and quote a few of them. I’m chopping onions, but not necessarily for the turkey dinner.

The Athens Banner-Herald gives you more color on the seniors, this time with video. In addition to chopping onions, suddenly my vacuum system has started spewing dust in the room.

A very tidy side-by-side comparison of position groups by the Red & Black. A good point is that UGA has the NFL-ready offensive line, but GaTech has a line that run blocks 60+ times a game. Repetition does count for something. Hopefully winning repetitively is the something that ultimately counts.

We broke out all the feels, now we’ll break out all the stats. The AJC gives you nothing but data. No anti-UGA, no bias, just numbers. This is something we can all get behind.

I checked out Saturdays Down South. I found a headline that seemed worth reading. It ain’t bad, it isn’t also not clickbait. These things are not mutually exclusive. Sorry.

If you want to hear how Georgia Tech Coach Paul Johnson {nickname_jowls_fishface_here} is looking forward to Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate, Dawgs247 gives you a few sound bites. Warning: coach-speak.

Moving on to Beyond The Hedges, our men’s basketball team is in the Caribbean. I hope they got nice swag, because they didn’t do so well on the court.

Small ‘Dawgs on Tour update: the PGA Tour was on St. Simons Island this past week, and 10 former Bulldogs teed it up with a chance at the title. A native Augustan/Augustite/Augustinian did win, but he was not a Bulldog. However 6 made the cut and you can check the scores if you’re interested.

To be honest, I have a turkey to brine and roast, and family to give face time to. I am thankful for the Dawg Sports community, the staff, and all those associated with the Georgia Bulldogs.

Happy Thanksgiving, and as always...

GO ‘DAWGS!!!
