Evening Open Thread: I’m not upset, you’re upset.

NCAA Football: North Carolina at Duke Nell Redmond-USA TODAY Sports

Now that you’ve watched the Red and Black break a (mild) sweat in taking down the UMass Minutemen, can I tempt you with some dessert?

There’s football with arguable playoff implications on your dial, as well as some games with sheer entertainment potential. Duke travels to #2 Clemson at 7:00 (ESPN) hoping to throw the playoff race into disarray. Coach Cutcliffe’s 7-3 Blue Devils ambushing the presumptive ACC champs would be surprising, but also hilarious.

Rice travels to #7 LSU (ESPNU) in a game that, again, would be a pretty unlikely upset. But if like me you’re just waiting for Ed Orgeron to Ed Orgeron the heck out of one this season, this would be a reasonable candidate. A loss by the Bayou Bengals would not only conclusively eliminate them from playoff consideration, but also make it a little harder for the Sugar Bowl to take the local team over a two loss Georgia.

You might also want to keep an eye on UAB at Texas A&M (ESPN2). 9-1 UAB has already clinched the western division of Conference USA, and could easily knock off a Texas A&M team that doesn’t take them seriously.

#24 Cincinnati travels to Central Florida for a game if keen interest to those who are really just tired of listening to Central Florida fans (8:00, ABC). And the late, late show features Arizona taking on #8 Washington State at 10:30 on ESPN. Stuff gets weird out in Pullman at midnight on the east coast. If you know, you know.

Here’s to you and your continued college football revelry.

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
