Despite what the temperatures would have you believe, it’s the first Saturday of October. As I get everything up and moving this morning, I find myself greeted with two distinct smells: burning hickory wood chips from my just-started smoker and burning leaves from that guy down the street who seems to have an endless supply throughout autumn. Few smells are so closely associated with a time and place for me as these two and fall’s onset in my backyard (another being stale beer and caramelized onions from The Grill and Athens in September). It’s one of my favorite things about one of my favorite times of year. And it mostly has to do with it being prime football season. So let’s get this started...
This is your Gameday Morning Open Comment Thread. Share your thoughts on today’s game between your #2 Georgia Bulldogs and the Vanderbilt Commodores, the rest of the Saturday slate, how you’ll be killing time until the Dawgs tee it up between the hedges, and what you love (or loathe) about this time of year. It’s another glorious day in the greatest college town in the world and the greatest state in the union. Enjoy it!
Until later...
GOOOO DAWGS!!!
