Ahhhhh. Week 6. Conference play is now well underway and there is nary a cupcake in sight. That is, of course, unless you consider the Arkansas Razorbacks a cupcake... which at this point I feel like you kind of have to. So, I guess the Alabama Crimson Tide are continuing the cupcakes into Week 6, but at least they didn’t schedule this one themselves. Lots of quality contests this weekend, so get ready!

Let’s do this:

And now, on to my picks for your best viewing options in each time slot...

Georgia State Panthers @ Troy Trojans, 7:30 p.m., ESPNU

Thursday Night Sun Belt baby! Fun Fact: At 2-3, I think we can still officially say that Georgia State has overtaken Georgia Tech as the best college football team in Atlanta.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets @ Louisville Cardinals, 7:00 p.m., ESPN

Good lord, this is going to be an absolute disaster. I can’t wait.

Saturday Noon

#7 Oklahoma Sooners vs. #19 Texas Longhorns, 12:00 p.m., FOX

I don’t personally find the Red River Rivalry to have as much mystique as it did, say, a decade ago. That said, I love it when teams hate each other and for a noon kickoff to your Saturday, it should be a good one.

Saturday Afternoon

#5 LSU Tigers @ #22 Florida Gators, 3:30 p.m., CBS

I honestly have no idea what to think about either of these teams. I’m inclined to believe that LSU will beat the pants off a Florida team I think is at least a little bit overrated. But who knows? We’re at the point in the season where weird things start to happen in the SEC (especially when Ed Orgeron starts chanting voodoo incantations — or is that just his pregame interview?).

Vanderbilt Commodores @ #2 Georgia Bulldogs, 7:30 p.m., SEC Network

Time to complete the quadrilogy and, once again, be crowned Tennessee State Champions! Additionally, you should probably keep an eye on the #13 Kentucky Wildcats as they take on the Texas A&M Aggies and the insane man they have stalking the sidelines. And Notre Dame/Virginia Tech, I guess.

Late Night

Utah Utes @ #14 Stanford Cardinal, 10:30 p.m., ESPN

Y’all know I love PAC 12 After Dark.

That’s all for this week, folks. Until next time...
