There’s no official word yet, but if Ben Cleveland isn’t playing this Saturday against Kentucky I’m not going to be the one to tell him.
A serviceable Ben Cleveland would be great news for a UGA offensive line that is clearly puttering along down a cylinder with Andrew Thomas’s nagging injuries, among others. As weird as Jim Chaney’s play calling has looked at times this year (and it’s looked pretty weird in spots), some of that is due to the Bulldog offensive line looking beat up. Cleveland’s return would allow Sam Pittman to use Kendall Baker a little less, and to shift the fast-improving Cade Mays around. Most importantly, it gives the Bulldog offense back probably its road-gradingest road grader for the stretch run. That calls for some dancing, Scottish or otherwise. Until later....
