It’s a very strange weekend of college football. I guess it’s because we’re well into the part of the season in which teams start having bye weeks, but it just seems like there aren’t as many quality contests as I would expect. And in some bizarre fluke, there are no 8:00 p.m. games. First time that’s happened in all the years I’ve written this post (at least as far as I can remember). Maybe it’s all just that voodoo magic Coach O is conjuring down in Red Stick. Anyway, there is still plenty of fun to be had.

Let’s do this:

Your Week 7 College Football TV Schedule >>>>> CLICK HERE!!!

And now, on to my picks for your best viewing options in each time slot...

Thursday

Texas Tech Red Raiders @ TCU Horned Frogs, 7:30 p.m., ESPN

Not much selection on Thursday night, but this isn’t a terrible way to spend the evening. The Red Raiders hung with West Virginia better than I expected so we’ll see how they do this week.

Friday

#23 South Florida Bulls @ Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 7:00 p.m., ESPN

Ahh... time for some of that good, good AAC competition I’ve been hearing so much about. What’s that you say? Tulsa is giving up an average of over 31 points per game? Hmm. Well certainly USF... Huh? Almost 26 points per game you say? Oh, well...

Saturday Noon

Tennessee Volunteers @ #21 Auburn Tigers, 12:00 p.m., SEC Network

The noon slate isn’t great, so why not have a few laughs. Just how screwed is Gus if he loses to the Vols at home?

Saturday Afternoon

#2 Georgia Bulldogs @ #13 LSU Tigers, 3:30 p.m., CBS

Kinda a no-brainer, innit???

Evening

Missouri Tigers @ #1 Alabama Crimson Tide, 7:00 p.m., ESPN

I get that the game of the night is the #15 Wisconsin Badgers visiting the #12 Michigan Wolverines. Really, I do. But, man, I just can’t bring myself to spend Saturday night with a Big Ten strugglefest. So instead, I’ll see how Drew Lock handles the Crimson Tide. It should be a pretty good indication of how he’ll handle NFL front 7s... since those are mostly made up of Alabama guys anyway.

Late Night

#19 Colorado Buffaloes @ USC Trojans, 10:30 p.m., FS1

This week’s PAC 12 After Dark action has the added bonus of probably being a pretty interesting contest seeing as the Trojans are undefeated at home and the Buffs are just undefeated.

That’s all for this week, folks. Until next time...

GOOOO DAWGS!!!
