As we begin the excruciating wait for the beginning of tonight’s tilt between our beloved Georgia Bulldogs and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, I am in need of some seriously good mojo. I’m not nervous, per se, but I am certainly anxious. That isn’t so much a function of any concern about the potential performance of the Dawgs as it is just the general skin-crawling anticipation that comes along with knowing I’ll have to wait 10+ more hours to figure out just how the heck things are gonna go. So I need something to distract me and give me good feelings... and you may as well. To wit, I give you this morning’s musical selection. My favorite song of all time, off my favorite album of all time (and, no, I don’t care that the band has said — at various times contradictorily — that they may or may not care for the album)*:
I’m sure you all have your own plans for the morning. Perhaps you find yourself in Indiana. Perhaps you find yourself battening down the hatches (DavetheDawg, our prayers are with you). As for myself, I will be enjoying (?) 6-year-old and 10-year-old flag football games. But don’t you worry. The Crock-Pot will be fired up while I’m away and the Four Roses Single Barrel will be waiting for me upon my return (which has become something of a tradition at this point). Whatever your plans, may you be blessed in your pursuits and may one of those blessings be a victory for The University of Georgia.
This is your Gameday Morning Open Comment Thread and will serve your commenting needs through today’s noon games (such as they are). Enjoy another of the all too fleeting Fall Saturdays afforded to us and share how you’re passing the hours as we wait for the game to begin.
Until then...
GOOOO DAWGS!!!
*Seriously, Fables of the Reconstruction is just a strange and wonderful album... and if you enjoy R.E.M. at all, you owe it to yourself to listen to it front to back.
