Georgia Overview

And we’re off! Georgia made no mistake as to who was the superior team on Saturday, making sure not to overlook Appalachian State as they won 31-10. The defense looked unstoppable as they shutout the Mountaineers for most of the game, and Nick Chubb and Sony Michel look like a force out of the backfield once again.

Of course, the main headline of the game is the injury to Jacob Eason and the subsequent play of Jake Fromm. Fortunately, what looked to be a potential season-ending injury to Eason’s knee turned out to be just a sprain and he is considered “week-to-week”. Fromm performed admirably when called upon, showing why he was such a highly touted recruit.

The true test for the Dawgs and Fromm comes this week, as they head to South Bend in an extremely rare trip up north.

Movers

Fell Out: #22 West Virginia, #23 Texas

Newcomers: #23 TCU, #24 Notre Dame

Overrated

#25 Tennessee

Somehow, Tennessee pulled out another miracle victory, this time against Georgia Tech in the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The Vols gave up 655 yards of total offense, including 535 rushing yards on the way to victory. What?! Yes, the Jackets have a unique offense that, when rolling, can punish you. But no ranked team should ever have a defensive stat line like that. Their spot in the polls should have been given to someone else.

Underrated

#11 Oklahoma State

Oklahoma State looks like they’re for real in 2017. Behind QB Mason Rudolph’s 303 yards passing, the Cowboys eased past a decent Tulsa team 59-24. They ended up falling a spot in the polls outside the top 10, down to #11. The Cowboys look like a top 10 team and a very favorable schedule that could see them run the table.

#5 Oklahoma at #2 Ohio State

#15 Georgia at #24 Notre Dame

#14 Stanford at #6 USC

Upset Alert

Call me delusional. Call me a homer. Just call me right next week. Georgia will go up to South Bend as a 4.5 point underdog and win outright against Notre Dame.

LET’S GO DAWGS!!!!!
