Around the SEC

NCAA Football: Appalachian State at Georgia Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to Week 2 of the college football season, aka “Let’s see how Fromm handles South Bend” Week. Here is what happened outside of Athens around the SEC:

  • Overall, the SEC went 12-2 the first weekend of the season. The only losses came from Florida, lost to Michigan and has serious questions on offense, and Texas A&M, who gave up a 34-point lead to UCLA.
  • Speaking of Texas A&M and that loss, it was the second largest comeback in college football history. As a Falcons fan, I don’t wish that upon any fan base.
  • Additionally, the SEC went 3-0 against the ACC. Alabama handled FSU, South Carolina pulled it out against NC State, and Tennessee somehow beat Georgia Tech. For all those saying that the ACC had passed the SEC for good after their solid 2016 campaign, chill.
  • Feleipe Franks will remain the Florida starting QB after being pulled in favor of Malik Zaire in the second half. He gets a more favorable opponent in Northern Colorado this week.

Until next time… GO DAWGS!!!
