There’s no "Crap, I’m behind this morning!" quite like the "Crap, I’m behind!" of the morning following a long holiday weekend. So let’s get straight to what’s going on in Bulldog Nation.
Jake Fromm had a good weekend. But did you know his little brother Dylan has been having quite the run as well? Fromm has the Warner Robins Demons ranked in the top five in class AAAAA, following a wild 38-35 win over AAA #1 Peach County this weekend.
The younger Fromm is a junior who’ll be a part of the class of 2019. This is his first year getting extended varsity action, but so far the results are promising.
Georgia Tech ran for 535 yards in a game...and lost. That is the most irrepressibly Georgia Tech thing ever. My big takeaway from the Tennessee/Georgia Tech game? I suspected Tennessee will have a rough 2017, and nothing I saw last night makes me reassess that. Though really, once Tech and Florida lose everything else is just gravy.
Speaking of dubious defense, Georgia’s effort against Appalachian State was solid, but UGA defenders know it could have been better, and will have to be against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Field position can be a defense’s best friend, and Rodrigo Blankenship’s five touchbacks on Saturday certainly helped. It seems that a small technical adjustment may allow the sophomore to seriously improve his kickoff results. Color me happy.
We’ll be back with more Dawgly goodness shortly. Until then...
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
