Kirby Smart’s Monday Press Conference: Eason "down a little bit" but injury could have been worse

NCAA Football: Georgia Spring Game Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Kirby Smart addressed the media this afternoon for his weekly news conference and got straight to the point.

Jake Fromm will in fact start at Notre Dame on Saturday, as Jacob Eason’s sprained left knee will keep him out of action "for now" though his status is officially "week to week." Eason however has already started rehab.

That being said, listen to Smart around the 3:15 mark and ask yourself whether he sounds like he even wonders what kind of QB situation Eason will come back to.

Aaron Davis and Solomon Kindley are also banged up, but it sounds like both will make the trip to South Bend are ecpected to be available. Malkom Parrish however still gets the dreaded "week to week" tag as well.

Coach Smart also talks a little more about why he was impressed with D’Andre Swift’s debut, and why Georgia fans should be worried about the Notre Dame offense (we’ll have a little more on that later this week, too).

The head ‘Dawg also describes the Irish offensive line as "as good as you’ll see", but has some ideas about why Bulldog players may not be as intimidated by playing in the storied stomping grounds of Rockne, Parseghian, and Holth as you might think.
