Second Half Open Comment Thread: Fromm Here To Eternity?

NCAA Football: Appalachian State at Georgia Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Remwmber that alleged ancient Chinese saying "may you live in interesting times"? Well, here we are. Following Jacob Eason's apparent knee injury early in the first quarter true freshman Jake Fromm has come in and managed to keep the ship afloat, staking the Bulldogs to a 21-0 lead.

Before we nominate the young man from Houston County for sainthood or the Heisman, it’s worth noting that Javon Wims bailed him out on a touchdown pass that managed to be both spectacular and ill-advised. A late throw down the sideline that could have been picked was instead dropped by the Appalachian State defender. Prime field position and the Chubb/Michel Industrial Complex helped a bit too.

Apparently we have a real, live punter and are now allowed to kick touchbacks on kickoffs. That’s nice. And the aggressive, veteran defense we hoped would ahow up has been as advertised.

All told, this thing could have gone a lot worse than it has so far. Let’s win this half 21-0 and then go fix what needs fixing.

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
