Monday Morning ‘Dawg Bites

NCAA Football: Georgia at Notre Dame Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports

Well, that turned out okay. But the thing about college football is that there’s never time to rest on your laurels. The Samford Bulldogs are coming to town. Have you seen their long snapper? Probably an All-American, potentially a Hall of Famer. We gotta get going.

Georgia will not be having school on Monday or Tuesday due to anticipated affects of Hurricane Irma. So we won’t get to hear from Kirby Smart as we normally would on Monday.

Wimbush "never played against a team with speed like that." This Georgia defense is, front to back, about as fast as any I’ve seen. It’s nice to know that Notre Dame’s quarterback agrees.

Speaking of speed, 2019 Bulldog commit Jadon Haselwood used his to score two touchdowns, record a sack, and grab a fumble recovery to key a 33-0 victory over Columbia High. Haselwood is rated the top wide receiver in the 2019 class, and with good reason.

Speaking of rankings, Georgia moved up to #13 from #15 in both the coaches and writers polls. I am but a humble sports blogging lawyer. Your rising affinity for my favorite college football team both frightens and confuses me.

Samford escaped Saturday to go to 2-0, just like Georgia. Except for the part where they gave up 41 points and 401 passing yards to a Division II quarterback. Other than that, just like Georgia’s Saturday. Until later...

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
