It’s morning again Bulldog Nation, Monday is behind us and the Eclipse didn’t prevent the sun from shining, & the earth from turning so let’s go through all the happenings in Bulldog Nation. These are your Tuesday Morning Dawg Bites:
Since last we posted, Georgia picked up the long expected commitment of peach County Wide Receiver Kearis Jackson Saturday afternoon. This moved Georgia up to #24 in the 247sports Composite Team Rankings. Top targets still undecided include four five star players: Justin Fields, Micah Parsons, Jamaree Salyer & KJ Henry.
Speaking of Rankings, the AP Preseason Poll came out Monday. Alabama is on top again. Georgia comes fourth in the SEC at #15 behind Bama, #12 Auburn & #13 LSU but ahead of #17 Florida & #25 Tennessee. No other SEC teams made the top 25.
Wilson Alexander at the Macon Telegraph has the scoop on the possibility of Georgia starting true freshman Andrew Thomas at Right Tackle. Coach Smart calls him “extremely mature” and Lorenzo Carter says he’s impressed.
Since I mentioned Lorenzo, I’d be remiss if I didn’t include this Macon Telegraph article. Georgia wants him to gain weight to play heavier and faster.
Without ever naming the significant medical event that caused Trent Thompson to withdraw from classes in the Spring, Red & Black has an article about his road to recovery and back to the team.
On Twitter, @UGAFootballLive dropped this hype video:
