Tailback James Cook decommits from FSU: Is another blue chip tailback Athens-bound?

We’ve talked a good bit recently about the possibility that Georgia might add another tailback to its 2018 class, and about the odds if that tailback being Miami standout James Cook.

Those odds may have gone up a bit on Sunday.

Cook’s decommitment from the Seminoles had seemed like a strong possibility for some time. And Georgia has really been the other major program that he talks about in interviews. Cook also just got through spending time with a slee of Bulldog commits and targets at The Opening out in Oregon.

I’m not saying Cook is about to publicly commit to Georgia. But I am saying that if he had to commit somewhere new tomorrow (which he doesn’t) I suspect it would be to the Red and Black. However there is still plenty of time for a few other programs (Miami, Clemson, Florida, and Auburn are among those rumored to be in pursuit) to convince him to sign on the dotted line.

If Cook does sign with Georgia (and Zamir White sticks with his recent pledge), it’s possible the ‘Dawgs will have landed two of the top three tailbacks in the nation for the 2018 class.

That ain’t bad. Not bad at all. Until later...

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
