Georgia’s all-time leader in passing yards and touchdown passes is now going to be honing his skills in a new line of work, albeit one close to the football field. Former Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray confirmed today that he will be in the broadcast booth for CBS Sports this coming season.
Following a collegiate career which saw him smash many school and conference records (he still holds the SEC marks for passing yards and touchdowns), Murray was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs. However, he was never able to supplant Alex Smith as the team’s quarterback, was eventually released, then bounced around as a free agent without ever catching on anywhere else.
Murray seems like the kind of affable former player who should be at ease in the booth. He’s also a well-known student of the game and a fiend for preparation, both of which will serve him well. Give ‘em heck, Aaron. No matter what, you’ll probably be better at this than Jesse Palmer. Until later...
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
