A.J. Green remains one of the most popular UGA football players in recent memory, and with good reason. The two time All-SEC wide receiver was a key contributor in every one of his three seasons in Athens. His 166 receptions, 2613 receiving yards, and 23 touchdowns place him among the most productive Red and Black receivers of all time. Since leaving Georgia following his junior season Green has made six consecutive Pro Bowls, establishing himself as one of the preeminent receivers in pro football.

But Green’s record of community service and selfless devotion to his team and school are what really stand out for Bulldog fans. It turns out that the pride of Summerville is at it again, endowing a pair of scholarships for exceptional students in financial need.

The Green family already endowed a football scholarahip in 2015. But this latest effort aimed at providing merit-based financial assistance is yet another reminder of A.J’s commitment to his alma mater. It’s also a great reminder that, as the commercial a few years back put it, you may leave the University if Georgia, but it never leaves you. Until later...

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
