With basketball’s regular season now at an end, the award season has begun along with the post season tournaments. When Georgia next takes the floor at the SEC Tournament against Tennessee in Nashville Thursday at 1, they’ll do so with a pair of first team All-SEC members.

This morning, Frazier and Maten were named to the Basketball Writer’s Association All District team (our district includes schools in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida) alongside KeVaughn Allen (Florida), Dwayne Bacon (FSU), Evan Bradds (Belmont), De’Aaron Fox (Kentucky), Ben Lammers (Georgia Tech), Donovan Mitchell (Louisville), Malik Monk (Kentucky), and Sebastian Saiz (Ole Miss).

Then, for the first time since Litterial Green and Alex Kessler in 1990, Georgia landed a pair of players on the All-SEC first team. The senior G Frazier finished 3rd in the SEC in scoring, 3rd in steals, 6th in assists, and played more minutes than anyone. Maten, a junior big man from Michigan, finished just behind Frazier at 4th in the conference in scoring average, 3rd in field goal percentage, as well as in the top 10 in both rebounding and blocked shots.

The inside-outside combo was one of the more effective pairs in the SEC, despite helping the team finish at 8th place in the conference standings at 9-9.
